We are extremely proud of these achievements.
We are especially proud to have been given the designation of being both an Opportunity Honoree and a Top Gains Honoree. Opportunity Honorees perform in the 90th percentile or above for students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students or English learners, and do not earn any Urgent Intervention Required labels for student groups and/or discipline. This number reflects our dedication to meeting the needs of all students. Top Gains schools have met their growth target by having a progress index of 90 or higher. This number shows that our students are moving in the right direction, and it is also a testament to the cumulative effort of our feeder schools who have prepared our students along the way.
Ruston High School remains dedicated to academic excellence, providing a rigorous curriculum that gives students the opportunity to earn up to 54 hours of college credit through 18 dual enrollment courses. When students complete these courses, they earn both college credit on their college transcript as well as high school credit on their high school transcript at little to no cost to the student. Additionally, RHS offers seven Advanced Placement courses that allow students to earn up to 42 hours of college credit at no cost to the student.
RHS offers something for every student. Whether it’s through our on-campus Certified Nursing Assistant program, a variety of classes in the arts, agriculture, business, and multiple foreign languages, our sports training program, our unique radio broadcasting and media program, excellence in athletics at the highest level of competition, our robotics team, our EcoCar team, and numerous other extracurricular activities, we strive to reach the diverse interests of our student body.
